Research has shown that increasing consumption of carotenoid-rich foods, these are, dark orange and green fruits and vegetables can improve visual performance in athletes.

A study published in Exercise and Sport Sciences Reviews tested how the carotenoids lutein and zeaxanthin, found in carrots amongst other vegetables, increased peak contrast sensitivity by 30%

The two carotenoids have been shown to improve contrast, decrease glare disability/discomfort, and speed recovery from photostress, helping athletes improve their long distance visual range, for example seeing a ball across a cricket pitch or tennis court.

So if your child/grandchild doesn’t like eating veg and they want to be the next 𝐑𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐅𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐫, 𝐈𝐠𝐚 𝐒𝐰𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐤, 𝐁𝐞𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐞 𝐄𝐜𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐞 you can now say there is scientific proof that eating you veg can improve your vision and help you with your dream of becoming an elite athelete.
