𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐋𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐚𝐮𝐢 𝐉𝐢𝐦 𝐬𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬.

Wildfires fuelled by Hurricane Dora on the Hawaiian island of Maui have affected Maui Jim’s store and office. Although the Lahaina store and offices have been damaged all the employees are safe. The death toll on the island though increases and hundreds are still missing.

The company 𝐌𝐚𝐮𝐢 𝐉𝐢𝐦 began in 1980 when a fisherman called Jim Richards started selling sunglasses on the beaches in Lahaina. He was known as the original "𝐌𝐚𝐮𝐢 𝐉𝐢𝐦"

𝐌𝐚𝐮𝐢 𝐉𝐢𝐦 is now part of the luxury brand Kering Eyewear and they have just made a donation to the Hawaii Community Foundation’s Maui Strong Fund, to assist those affected by this disaster and to support the rebuilding efforts of those impacted by the wildfires.
