Frequently Asked Questions

We Understand It Can Be Confusing When It Comes To Choosing A Therapist, So Here Are Some Of Your Questions Answered!

How Does Your Treatment Work?

We use a combination of techniques, including P-DTR, Bowen Technique and Neuro-Programming to treat and process root cause of your pain.

Once we have ruled out any structural damage, we provide pain relief by targeting and resetting neuro-muscular any miscommunications in your body.

In other words, we reset the old and wrong pain signals in your body, as well as making sure that they don’t return.

The treatment involves different stimulation to your body, including stretching and applying pressure. It is generally considered as relaxing!

How Long Does It Take To Fix My Problem?

This is a very common question and often one that has no clear answer. Although we may give you an average number of treatments, we cannot give you a certain number.

Dealing with chronic pain is not the same as normal injury recovery. Physical injuries has a very clear pattern of healing, and medically we have a good understanding of healing timeframe for these problems.

Chronic pain is a completely different type of health issue. Sadly, sometimes conventional western medicine approaches to chronic pain don't provide long-term relief. Painkillers, steroid injections, physiotherapy exercises, endless referrals. All of which may help alleviate the pain, but quite often temporary.

When you receive a scan for a bone fracture, most medical professionals can tell you the type and severity of the fracture, and a fairly accurate amount of time you would need to heal.

There isn’t a scan for chronic pain. Even if there is, you will see that there is no physical damage to the area, you will however see layers upon layers of neurological and psychological issues that intertwine with each other, creating thousands of connections that are designed to keep the pain there.

So although we try our very best to hasten the healing process for you, we cannot give you a clear number of treatments you would need, your case is very unique to you.

With that in mind, typically you should start to see a positive result within 4-6 treatments for the initial problem you come in for.

After which if there is no noticeable change, then we will reassess your situation, and may refer you to your GP to check for structural damage or other underlying diseases that may be preventing progress.

Will I Get Flare Ups During The Treatment Process?

Quite often our clients have flare ups of their pain during the treatment process, and this is completely normal and, in most cases, expected.

We assure each client that this is generally how our nervous system heal. Every time we remove a neurological dysfunction, it takes some ‘rewiring’ to adjust to the changes, quite often this leads to an increase in the pain intensity.

Think of this like tidying a messy wardrobe, you have to throw all the clothes out and get messy before you can start tidying. Sometimes the pain gets worse before it can move onto the next stage.

We call this the Toblerone Effect.

Just like a Toblerone Chocolate, there are ups and downs during your recovery process, but as long as this Toblerone is slanted upwards, then we know that progress is being made.

Sometimes things get frustrating, and although to you it may be a new experience, we have experienced this thousands of times in clinic, so rest assured that this is completely normal.

It is easy to look at your current ups and downs and become upset about it, but very much like the stock market, if you zoom out and look at the whole journey, you will see that you are making progress!

During flare ups, we generally advise you to stay hydrated and use heat or cold to help ease the pain. If it's not too painful, some gentle movement such as walking may help too!

Can You Help With Sciatica?

Yes! We have helped hundreds of people with sciatica or sciatic pain – pain that runs from the lower back, down the buttocks, and sometimes all the way to the ankle.

This often comes with weakness and/or numbness in the same leg.

The sciatic nerve is the longest and biggest nerve in the body, and it is prone to impingement. When this happens, it causes an electric type or shooting pain.

Diagnosing the origin of the nerve impingement is key to your recovery. This may be a muscle spasm in the lower back or glutes, or a spinal / disc issue.

Once we have identified your root cause, we can go ahead and start your treatment process!

Do You Treat Auto-Immune Diseases?

Although we cannot ‘fix’ auto-immune disease, we can help alleviate the pain associated with it.

Pain that arises from conditions such as Fibromyalgia can often be relieved to a large extent, and we have had many happy results in clinic!

Please talk to your GP first if you are deciding to embark on a treatment journey with us.

Once you've been given the green light for your GP, we can then have a discussion about your symptoms, and create a treatment plant together.

Do You Treat Recent Surgeries?

Yes, we do!

We have treated hundreds of recent surgeries. We first welcome you to our clinic to assess your surgery scar, then invite you to come in 6-8 weeks after the surgery to allow for natural healing process to take place.

There are two types of surgeries that we focus on.
Type 1 – Surgeries for visceral problems (organ failures, tumours, heart surgeries etc)
Type 2 – Surgeries following a physical injury or correction (bone fractures, lacerations, joint replacement etc)

With Type 1 Surgeries, we focus on the surgery site, examining and treating the scar itself, nerves that surround the scars, the soft tissues underneath, as well as any negative emotions you may have about the surgery or disease. This is usually a straightforward process, and helps speed up recovery.

Type 2 Surgeries may take longer to fully recover, depending on the nature of the reason for the surgery. Bones take longer to fully heal, which means the treatment process has to be spread out to accommodate for tissue and nerve regeneration. Lacerations, similar to Type 1, are usually straightforward to treat once the scar has formed. Again, any emotional issues will be addressed.

Do You Treat Old Surgeries?

Yes, we do! In fact this is very common in our clinic.

A common misconception about surgeries is that once everything has fully healed, you are only left with a physical scar, this is not true.

Quite often after a surgery, your nervous system changes the way your body moves and function, especially around the scar. We call this neurological scarring.

Neurological scars can cause a whole myriad of secondary problems, including pain, tightness or restrictions, poor blood and lymphatic circulation in the area leading to further issues, movement pattern dysfunctions, functional problems such as IBS and allergies etc.

It is imperative that you seek help with any untreated major scars, to prevent long term illnesses and other health problems.

Do You Treat Children?

Yes we do! We love helping our young ones.

Jun himself has a baby at home that he looks after.

Treating children is slightly different to treating adults. The treatment process is exactly the same, but the approach is a lot more gentle, with each step explained in an understandable way so that they can also follow the process.

An accompanying adult must be present at all times. This ensures the safety of the children. This also allows us to explain to you about the findings etc. during the treatment.
